Internet Marketers Suffer from Googerosis Infinitum

Internet marketing is a hard game to play. It requires consistency to the point of neurosis and over a period of time, this leads to a neurotic condition called Googerosis Infinitum.

The cause of this condition is well known but the antidote has not yet been developed. Some propose that it will happen with a Bing and yahoo but the signs to date are not encouraging. Once Googerosis sets into an Internet Marketers psyche, it is extremely difficult to dislodge.
One of the first noticeable characteristics of the ailment is when they are found sitting in the same position at midnight as they adopted early in the morning. The body language hasn’t changed but there may be more or louder “Ah-Ha’s” emanating from their mouth.
However, it is usually not advisable for anyone who is not IT literate to ask them what they said. If any non-IT literate person makes this mistake they are most likely to flee from the room with glazed-over eyes. The consolation for these unfortunate individuals is that Googerosis is not catching to anyone who is not susceptible to curiosity and a desire to know more.
The closest cure to date for those afflicted with this debilitating disease is called success.
Unfortunately this doesn’t work for everyone because there are many Internet Marketers, (IM) who see this as a way to enormous wealth; and the now well documented disease known as Googerosis Infinitum becomes chronic.
These poor individuals suffer from a well-documented chronic condition called greed. It is at this stage of the disease, that the problem becomes contagious and has the tendency to become an epidemic affecting everyone who has contact with them. If you suspect someone you know has this disease, it is highly, highly recommended that you sever all contact with them immediately.
The other physical symptoms of Googerosis Infinitum are poor posture, bad eyesight and overweight to the point of obesity.
The poor posture is caused by the position they adopt for long periods of time in front of a computer. They are often hunched over looking at pixels, which are minute measurements used in today’s digital technology. These pixels have the ability to misalign a web page and so must be rectified before a webpage can go public. Failure to chase down a misplaced pixel can make an IM look amateurish and so must be tracked down and removed at all times.
The bad eyesight is the pixels revenge.
Now the more serious physical condition called overweight or worse, obesity, comes from eating too much junk food or comfort food.  The junk food is the fastest way to obtain a meal when hunger strikes and requires the least amount of time to prepare. The comfort food is eaten to compensate the IM when the traffic stats and income is low or non-existent.
If you are thinking the writer of this article is suffering from a case of Googerosis Infinitum, you are correct. It is not yet developed into a chronic case so I’m looking towards leaving with a Bing and a Yahoo and hoping you can finally cure my traffic stats neurosis.

How to Develop a Web Site from Conception to Crawling

Building a web site doesn't end once it's published on the internet and available for all the world to see. Now any good web master worth their salt will develop it to a point that people world wide can find it.

When you first start out and publish your first web site, you feel such a sense of accomplishment that one tends to sit, stare, admire, tweak, test all the links and then email it off to all their friends in their contact list hoping everyone else will admire it and send it on to people in their address book. Well, that was how I felt and behaved and months later, I could hardly find my own web site on the internet.

So I built more and more web sites and still had the same problem of no visitors. It would seem that I was doing more than a few things wrong . I soon stopped sending any web sites off to family and friends because I never heard back from most of them and according to my Statcount tracker, precious few had visited. So, one aspect of my internet business had been accomplished in that I had learnt how to build a web site but I had to start looking for the missing links to fix the traffic situation. What had been happening was that I was building "all singing and all dancing" web sites that didn't please the search engines or anyone looking for what I had to offer.

I soon learnt that designing and making a web site is only part of the web site developing process.

I would consider web site design and building a most basic skill because even if you can get traffic to a web site, unless you can build, alter, add, subtract from one you can never really "own" one. But unless you learn to develop one it doesn't matter how many web sites you "own" because none of them will be successful.

To develop a web site needs a lot of time, love of tweaking and testing, writing or out sourcing articles to build, enlarge or market the web site. If your web site is to be an authoritative source of information then it has to be added and increased incrementally. The search engines are quite specific about what they consider an authoritative site and seeing a whole bunch of 'stuff' dumped into it from time to time doesn't equate with their algorithm at all.

So to develop a successful web site the idea must be conceived, impregnated, incubated in design and published to the world wide web. Then the webmaster will need to 'feed' it regularly, to grow it one pixel after another.

How to Write Better Web Copy

I have recently read an article on how people read on the web. It is interesting to note that in the last five years people's web reading method hasn't changed. The only thing that has changed is how the researchers can better view the intensity with which they now read certain areas of a web page. This is very interesting information for anyone who is a web publisher and writes copy for web pages.

I knew a lot of this from previous studies but I'm going to need to change my style of writing again to accommodate this new intensity and I'm going to have to better optimise my web pages to accommodate some new areas that previously I didn't pay enough attention to and have been missing out 'big time' by leaving spaces where people actually spend more time than I was aware of in their scanning habits.

My writing style for web pages is now going to have to be much more succinct. I have not previously made much use of bulleted lists but it seems that viewers of web pages prefer this style of writing in which to gain information quickly. Previously I have sought to pass information to my readers via a more narrative and entertaining style but it seems this is not what many readers are wanting. It explains a lot to me and answers some questions that I wasn't able to find answers for previously.

So now I know I have two different types of readers to accommodate. I do have readers who really do read the whole page (they are never long and I really do try not to be boring) so I will be making a special section for them under the label of articles and taking them through another door from my main page. This way those who want to scan can and those who want to read will still be able to find a more personalized version of my experiences.

So what do your web pages say about your web site and are you optimized for both types of readers?

PPC Webspy

Every now and then something new comes out that makes your mouth fall open. Well, PPC Webspy did that to me today. So many questions that I wanted answers to but were so time consuming to get suddenly found their answers. All I could say was "WOW! Blimey Charlie...this's going to put the cat amoung the pidgeons"

So I've been digging this morning and I've found gold. I hope you take advantage of this FREEBIE and find your own goldmine. Mind you, if you bought the paid version you would be buying both the gold exchange and the bank vault but that is up to you as to how much gold you can deal with !

Any internet marketer who was serious about their business will find this the "Must Have" tool for doing any PPC campaign.

Money saved is money earned! So why would you want to do something that someone else has already proved doesn't work?

Better still, why not start from the 'get-go' with what is working and build from there? Make sense...well, it's definitely more than cents anyway!
